Its been a while.....

I've been so busy lately that I've neglected this blog somewhat! However, after making a few changes in my life which has allowed me to concentrate more on my career in photography, I'm now back on track.

I've been building a portfolio of local landmarks and as well as enjoying getting out and about, I've discovered some gems. The new Infinity Bridge at Stockton is one of my favourite new landmarks in the area and as these photos show...its a truly stunning bridge.

Dublin Fun

We have just spent a couple of days in the beautiful city of Dublin. The weather was freezing but the Guiness and Irish stew more than made up for the cold. Dublin is a fantastic city and we have a fantastic time every time we visit. This time we went with a group of friends which made it even more fun, but it meant I didn't get a great deal of time for loitering to take photos.....here are a couple of my favourites from the trip though......

Dreaming of Christmas

Today I've been pre-occupied with thinking about our Christmas break. This year we're leaving behind all the stresses and strains of the traditional family Christmas and getting away from it all. Our wedding anniversary is on New Years Eve and we haven't had one at home since we got married in Las Vegas nearly six years ago but this is the first time we've decided to be away for Christmas too. I haven't quite decided whether we'll go for snow or sun this year, but either way I'm looking forward to being somewhere different with my camera.

To detract me from my globetrotting dreams, I had a wonderful shoot today at a fantasic home which had its own pub, and outdoor hot tub! The weather was icy cold so the hot tub definitely looked tempting. The house itself is a gorgeous barn conversion so there was lots of exposed brick and cosy open fires. The owners have already found their new dream home so hopefully these pictures will help bring in viewings for a quick sale for them.

Lazy Sundays

This weekend I had two portrait shoots that both needed to re-arrange - the perils of working with children! However, it gave me some much needed time to catch up on editing and creating some online preview galleries. I've also been able to spend some time editing photographs which were taken last week so I was definitely glad of the diary change.

I have two property shoots booked in for this coming week, which I'm really looking forward to. The housing market is a little slow at the minute so I've not been shooting houses for a few weeks now. I get to see some beautiful homes and I never know what the lighting or layout is going to be like, so its a constant challenge. Because the photographs are used commercially, it means I don't get to be that creative, but it doesn't stop me looking for the little details that I love so much....like this tap........

I know that one of the properties I'm shooting this week has magnificent views, so I'm looking forward to capturing some winter magic while I'm there. Now the trees have lost all their leaves and the sun is low in the sky I'm hoping for some striking images.
